SaintMail SPAM Restrictors
The SaintMail IMAP servers are designed with a specific SPAM restricting feature.
We use Blackhole Filtration.
Blackhold Filtration is a list of the IP addresses of machines known to be open relays. An open relay is a mail server that will accept and deliver mail from anywhere to anywhere. Many spammers send spam through these relays, which act as amplifiers and anonymizers for their messages. These machines may be used to relay spam, therefore SaintMail chooses to use these lists to block or add warnings to email by default.

SaintMail SPAM Policies
SaintMail specifically forbids the use of any SaintMail account for the purpose of sending chain letters, junk mail, spamming or any use of distribution lists to any person who has not given specific permission to be included in such a process.

Upon notification by a recipient of such mail, SaintMail will immediately contact the user with a one-time-only warning to cease.  Any further reports of abuse and/or misuse will result in an immediate and unannounced termination of the user's SaintMail account and our contact of the user's Internet Service Provider for removal on their end.

Any continued use of a SaintMail account or the SaintMail name after termination will result in prosecution for fraud and misrepresentation.

What To Do If You Receive Abusive Email Or SPAM
The wrong approach when receiving SPAM from a SaintMail address is to rant, rave, and send us your "commentary" or your demands.

That does absolutely nothing but cause us to be less inclined to assist you.  *Remember - We are just as interested as you in halting the abuse and misuse of any SaintMail account.

1 - Send a copy of the abusive email to:

 abuse@saintmail.net

2 - If the headers have not been forged, try to determine who the Internet Service Provider is that was used to send the mail and forward them a copy as well.

3 - NEVER respond to the SPAMMER or the address used as the Reply-To.  NEVER respond to their "offer" for you to send a 'Remove Me' message.  This only confirms for them that your email address is valid and will ensure that you receive more and more unwanted mail.

4 - Additionally, there are other services available to assist you.

To report Internet commercial e-mail fraud, send mail to:

fraudinfo@psinet.com

To report "pyramid scams" and chain letters, send mail to:

 pyramid@ftc.gov

(If you've received a chain letter via snail-mail, you can also send mail to:  rrbroadnax@uspis.gov)

Direct marketing complaints?  Send mail to:

 postmaster@the-dms.org

Specific breeches of Federal Trade Commission  regulations, send mail to:

bbroder@ftc.gov

(Use ONLY if you can cite which FTC regulation has been violated and prove it.  For more information on the FTC, we suggest visiting their site at:  http://www.ftc.gov)
